On behalf of the organisers of The RegionalStakeholder Conference on Renewable Energy, The University of Fiji, School of Science & Technology, the EPIC Project team and the Pacific Island Development Forum Secretariat (PIDF), we would like to express our most sincere gratitude for attending the Regional Stakeholder Conference on Renewable Energy on October 6-7th, 2016 at the Sofitel Resort.
It is our hope that you found the conference informative and valuable. The primary goal of this conference was to highlight the ongoing need for the promotion of Renewable Energy (RE) sources and the potential that exists for cleaner, sustainable energy sources within the Pacific region.
Bringing together stakeholders and experts in the RE and energy efficiency sector, representatives of national government, the private sector, academics, local NGOs and community leaders in an open dialogue, enabled discussions on issues facing our nation and the development of possible strategies on how we can move towards more sustainable development through RE in the Pacific region.
We believe that our diverse and dynamic group of speakers provided thorough insight, in key areas such as the role of collaboration between national government, the private sector and Higher Education Institutes in promoting RE and sustainable development.
Your presence helped to make this event a great success and your enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make our time together both productive and entertaining. We hope that your interest in the field will continue and that you will participate in future events advertised through our Centre of Renewbale Energy (CORE) both in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
